What is our Focus?

In accordance with state statute from the Illinois Solid Waste Management Act Section 2(b), we will continue to pursue the promoted waste management hierarchy:

  1. Volume Reduction at the source
  2. Recycling and Reuse
  3. Combustion with Energy Recover (not applicable)
  4. Combustion for Volume Reduction (not applicable)
  5. Disposal in Landfill
Therefore, the purpose of this page is to inform you, our citizens, of the proper disposal, recycling protocol, and recommended alternatives as well as upcoming events to assist with easier recycling capabilities for difficult to recycle items.
